The Chicago Humanities Festival, working in partnership with fellow cultural institutions throughout the Chicago area, has been bringing prominent leaders in literature, history, science, politics, music, and the arts to our city for more than two decades. On October 27, the Chicago Humanities Festival will hold its annual Benefit Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Allstate will be honored with the 2011 Corporate Award and CHF Founding Board member Richard Gray, will receive the Friend of the Festival Award.
The CHF Benefit Gala also promises a night of wonderful entertainment. One of the most exciting and sought-after baritones of the day, renowned opera star Nathan Gunn, will treat guests to a private performance of selected songs from the Great American Songbook. Not only is Mr. Gunn known around the world—described by The New York Times as possessing “a voice of stunning authority”—he also has local ties as an alumnus of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where he is currently a professor of voice.
