2012 Winter/Spring Programs
Provocateurs, politicos, and leaders of the literati: the Chicago Humanities Festival always brims with thoughtful thinkers. It’s with immense pleasure, then, that we look ahead to expanding our signature programs beyond our annual Fall Festival—we’re kicking off our 23rd season early and offering an array of lectures, readings, and performances this spring.
Join us for great programs:
- Wednesday, January 18, 2012: Soak up art historian and Terra Lecturer in American Art Wanda Corn's insight into women artists during the Columbian Exposition.
- Thursday, February 16, 2012: Encounter international performance art star Marina Abramović at a lecture preceding an exhibition with the Smart Museum of Art.
- Saturday, March 3, 2012: Get the insider perspective on women in politics with one of its most uniquely qualified participants, first female Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi at this year’s Joanne H. Alter Lecture on Women in Government.
- Thursday, April 26, 2012: Laugh with witty Israeli novelist, short story writer, and filmmaker Etgar Keret, whose latest, Suddenly, a Knock on the Door, will leave you in stitches.
