Burnham Centennial

Daniel Burnham envisioned a “green” city even before “green” was a buzz word. From the rolling lawns of Washington Park to the landmark architecture of the Loop, Burnham left an indelible legacy to Chicago. But what were the forces that came together in 1909 to produce Burnham and Bennett’s Plan of Chicago? And where are the imprints of this visionary plan on our regional landscape and how does it continue to inspire us 100 years later?
