Prices

$5-28 in advance. Payment may be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, or check. A $6 processing fee per transaction will be added to all orders (including teacher and student orders).

A $5 per ticket surcharge applies to all purchases at the door. Ticket sales at the door are cash only and subject to availability.

Student and Teacher Prices

Free and reduced-price tickets are available for students and teachers to many programs (with valid ID). When ordering online or by phone, please be prepared to provide details about where you attend school or teach, so you can receive the discount. See individual program listings for teacher and student pricing. Student and teacher pricing is always the lower of the two listed prices; for all $5 programs, students and teachers attend free. For programs in which there are three prices listed, teacher tickets are the second price and student tickets the third. The $5 per ticket surcharge for purchases at the door does not apply to teacher and student tickets.

Volunteer Prices

Free tickets to many programs are available to 2012 registered Festival volunteers. Volunteer ticket orders must be made over the phone at least 48 hours prior to the event.

Educational Groups

Educational groups may be entitled to free or reduced-price tickets. Educational groups may contact the Group Tickets line at 312-661-1028 ext. 735 to make arrangements.

Ticket Policies

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are not exchangeable and are nonrefundable, except in the event of a programs cancellation. If you are unable to attend a program for which you have purchased a ticket, please call the box office at 312-494-9509 for information on donating tickets.

Ticket holders and Red Badge members are only guaranteed admission 10 minutes prior to the programs start time. Unclaimed seats may be reassigned.

CHF limits its advance reservations and ticket sales to the capacities of its venues. Please note: advance ticket sales, both online and by phone, shut down 2-3 days prior to each event. Seats may be available at sold-out programs. If available, tickets will be sold at the door, first-come, first-served, 10 minutes prior to the start of each program.

Programs, dates, venues, presenters, and artists are subject to change without notice. For up-to-date program information, please visit chicagohumanities.org.

Volunteer

Each year, the Chicago Humanities Festival needs hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers to greet and usher patrons, manage crowds, and sell tickets. In addition to an invaluable behind-the-scenes Festival experience, all volunteers receive free Festival tickets, based on shifts worked during the Festival.

To volunteer, visit the volunteer section of our website at chicagohumanities.org, send an email to volunteer@chicagohumanities.org, or call 312-661-1028 ext. 715.
