Recorded on November 6, 2010.

The connection between beauty and body is a long and winding road. Through the ages poets and songwriters have used the body as a subject to fascinate and challenge their readers and listeners. This spoken word program showcases new voices in this storied tradition and considers the body as human, as metropolis, and imagined in ways yet undiscovered. With appearances from poetry slam veterans and writers as young as eleven, this round robin–style performance will illustrate the humor, complexity, and beauty that define what shapes us all: our bodies. Featuring performances by Kuumba Lynx’s Half-Pint Poets, Marty McConnell, and Roger Bonair-Agard and hosted by program curator Nikki Patin.
