    Author Amitav Ghosh's published works include Sea of Poppies (2008), The Circle of Reason (1986), The Shadow Lines (1990), The Calcutta Chromosome (1995), and The Glass Palace (2000). His award-winning novels tell the stories of oppressed opium workers, British families in Calcutta, and a young Indian weaver on the run from the law after being accused of being a terrorist.
