Sound designer Walter Murch leaves the studios for a bit to share his love of  astronomical and mathematical theory. He explains several different formulas and theories, demonstrating fascinating correlations between the distances of the planets (to each other and the sun) and their subsequent production of musical tonality. He grippingly explains such phenomena as that in which raising the sound produced by the vibration of the sun seventeen octaves produces a note precisely corresponding to the note that orchestras use to tune their instruments.

Adam Bly, editor-in-chief of Seed Magazine, considers what is provoking this cultural shift, who is leading it, and where we are going from here.
