Loren Glass is associate professor in the English department and the Center for the Book at the University of Iowa. His first book, Authors Inc.: Literary Celebrity in the Modern United States, was published by New York University Press in 2004. His history of Grove Press, Counter-Culture Colophon: Grove Press, the Evergreen Review, and the Incorporation of the Avant-Garde, is forthcoming in the Post45 Series with Stanford University Press in 2013. In addition to writing on celebrity and obscenity, he is an amateur book artist and appstrumentalist for the Killer Apps, Iowa City’s only all-mobile phone cover band.
