Books banning—it’s the antithesis of humanism, though it stems from a common belief: books have the power to change the way readers think. But censors deem certain thinking dangerous, while we humanists consider any idea or narrative a valuable addition to the discourse. Celebrate Banned Books Week this year by listening to readings from and discussions of classically censored authors Margaret Atwood, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Lois Lowry, Gary Paulsen, and Tom Wolfe. Say no to censorship.
