Black Women Will Save the World with April Ryan and Valerie Jarrett

The resilience and unheralded strength of Black women movers, shakers, and sheroes

About the Event:

It’s time—and long overdue—for everyone to acknowledge Black women’s unrivaled contribution to American life and democracy. At CHF, trailblazing White House correspondent April Ryan highlights the incredible work of “sheroes” like Valerie Jarrett, Kamala Harris, and LaTosha Brown. Join her for a conversation with the CEO of the Obama Foundation, Valerie Jarrett, about how Black women will save the world and a reminder that it’s not fair to expect them to do it alone.

A book signing will follow this program.

As a part of the Morris & Dolores Kohl Kaplan Northwestern Day, this program is generously sponsored by The Dolores Kohl Education Foundation and is presented in partnership with Northwestern University's Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities. The Festival’s Social Justice & Equity Series is generously underwritten by The Allstate Insurance Company and ITW.
