About the Event:

Join Chicago Humanities at Sanctuary, a new women-centric cocktail den and restaurant, for an evening of celebrating differences in this mingling reception with appetizers and cash bar.  Feast on global gourmet food stations — crafted by Chicago's women restaurateurs — and stick around to meet the restaurateurs, enjoy statement cocktails, and hear soapboxes from Chicagoans on immigration and why they're proud to be from a sanctuary city, including Congresswoman Robin Kelly, author Rebecca Makkai, chef Rick Bayless, Chicago Deputy Mayor Beatriz Ponce de León, and Let's Talk Womxn/Sanctuary founder Rohini Dey, PhD.

Sanctuary is overt in its goal of empowering women and proudly serves as the hub for Let's Talk Womxn, a collaboration of women restaurateurs building combined economic power.

Global gourmet food stations by Let's Talk Womxn:

  • Mexican (Frontera Grill)
  • Cambodian (Khmai)
  • Vietnamese (Saigon Sisters)
  • British (Albion Manor)
  • Mediterranean (Exquisite Events)
  • Albanian (Molly's Cupcakes Chicago)
  • Global Comfort (Sanctuary)
