About the Event:

Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Sixth Extinction and The New Yorker staff writer, Elizabeth Kolbert continues her work on climate change and human impact on Earth. In the beloved writer’s latest work, H Is for Hope, she crafted twenty-six essays—one for each letter of the alphabet. Kolbert takes Chicago Humanities audiences on a journey from “A” for Svante Arrhenius, who created the world’s first climate model in 1894 to “Z”, for the ground zero of US climate change at the Colorado River Basin. Adapted from essays originally published in The New Yorker and beautifully illustrated by Wesley Allsbrook, Kolbert and digs into the history of climate change and the uncertainties of our future.

Tickets for the Elizabeth Kolbert program for Collaborators and above are free.
