Jhumpa Lahiri: Whereabouts
About the Event:
Jhumpa Lahiri won the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for her authorial debut, Interpreter of Maladies, and continues to cross and expand the boundaries of literature. Her latest work of fiction is as much an extraordinary achievement as her first—Whereabouts is written in Italian, Lahiri’s third language, and translated into English by the author herself. Lahiri visits CHF to discuss her new book about the life of a middle-aged woman and her geographical companion, an unnamed Italian city. Lahiri is joined in conversation by poet and translator Jennifer Scappettone.
