Driving Directions

From the South: Use S DuSable Lk Shr Dr. and exit onto N Sheridan Rd. Take a left onto Burnham Pl, followed by a right onto Forest Ave to stay on Sheridan Rd. Turn right onto Campus Dr., followed by another right onto Arts Cir Dr.

From the West: Use either I-294N or I-90E in order to exit onto Golf Rd. Golf Rd will turn into Emerson St. Take a right onto Sheridan followed by a left onto Campus Dr. Finally, take a left onto Arts Cir Dr.

From the North: Take Sheridan Rd South, making a left onto Campus Dr. Take another right onto Arts Cir Dr.

Parking is free after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday. The parking garage is about a 5 minute walk from the auditorium.

Some free and metered street parking is also available throughout Evanston. Additionally, you can use Spot Hero to reserve parking in advance online.

CTA & Metra

Purple Line: The Evanston campus is close to Purple Line’s Davis, Foster, and Noyes. The Foster and Noyes stops are both two and a half blocks west of Sheridan Road.

Bus Service: #201 Central/Ridge bus operates from Howard CTA Terminal along Ridge Avenue to Davis Street and then continues north on Sheridan Road to Evanston Hospital and Ryan Field. #147 Outer Drive Express bus operates through downtown Chicago, then express on Lake Shore Drive to Foster Avenue (in Chicago), ending at the Howard CTA Terminal. #22 Clark bus also runs from the Loop to the Howard Terminal, on Clark Street.

Metra: Utilize the Union Pacific North Line, making stops at Evanston’s Davis Street Station.

Accessibility

Parking: Handicapped designated parking spaces are available in the parking lot northwest of the garages (the McCormick Tribune Center/Locy Hall lot). To reach the lot, drive past the garages and turn left at the stop sign. A visitor parking pass is not required to park in a handicapped designated space if your vehicle has a valid handicapped license plate or placard from a government agency.

After parking, proceed to the northeast side of the McCormick Tribune/Locy lot. Cross Campus Dr. to reach Arts Circle Dr. Follow the sidewalk and walk along Arts Circle Dr. until you reach the roundabout. The entrance to the Block will be on your left, across from Pick-Staiger Concert Hall.

Arts Circle Dr. Entrance: Vehicles wishing to drop off passengers requiring an accessible route should follow Campus Dr. and turn right onto Arts Circle Dr. Drive along Arts Circle Dr. until you reach the roundabout. Passengers may exit at the roundabout and the entrance to the Block will be on the left. Drivers may also temporarily park their vehicles at the roundabout to assist passengers in reaching the Museum. After reaching the Museum, drivers should return to their vehicles and follow Arts Circle Dr. to the parking areas.

Mobility: The Pick-Laudati Auditorium is accessible through the museum gallery, to the front of the auditorium space. A CH volunteer or staff person will escort you to the entrance.

Assistive Listening Devices: Devices can be rented from the box office table before the event begins, along with headphones and single-ear speakers. Neck loops are available for hearing aids with t-coil capabilities. Valid ID or phone number required as collateral.

Sensory Kits and Toys: To best support audience members on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, or other sensory, social, or cognitive disabilities, we have a limited number of sensory friendly kits, toys, and tools available for use. Toys include Fidget Spinners, latex-free Sensory Balls, and Tangles. We also have a select number of Sunglasses and Noise-Reduction Headphones. Tools can be borrowed from the CH box office table before the event. Valid ID or phone number required as temporary collateral.

Service Animals: Chicago Humanities welcomes any and all animals that are registered as a service animal. A service animal is described under the ADA as "individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities."
