He/She
The ninth annual Chicago Humanities Festival ventured beyond the battle of the sexes to probe the eternal mystery of He/She, the paradigm within which we must all live our lives. From birth to death, male/female relationships exert a powerful influence. Gender is a fundamental aspect of society, affecting furniture and architecture, constitutional and family law, landscape and urban design, health research and environmentalism. As we enter the third sexual revolution of the century, our concepts of gender are changing and our models of what it means to be a man or a woman are being overturned.
