Balanchine’s Discovery
Irina Baronova’s rise to the pinnacle of the ballet world began when George Balanchine plucked her out of a Russian studio and put her on the stage at the age of 12. For her daughter, actor Victoria Tennant ("L.A. Story"), her mother’s remarkable career led to a beautiful project: an intimate portrait of Baronova’s life as a dancer. With sumptuous photographs and rare behind-the-scenes stories of life on the road, Tennant illuminates one of the glorious moments in the history of ballet.
