Fred Tomaselli: Art, Birds, Collage, Drugs, Etc.

Animals are at the heart of artist Fred Tomaselli's visual vocabulary. They appear as surface subjects, as in his glorious series of bird paintings, and along with other elements of nature as building blocks in his representational universe. A master of hallucinatory collage, he fuses and juxtaposes multiple picture planes to give his paintings their rare glowing effect. Hear Tomaselli discuss his work, lifelong affinity for the natural world, and his fascination with the animal kingdom with CHF Emeritus Artistic Director Lawrence Weschler.
